FF-4000 GETS GOOD RESPONSE

Eclectic Breaks recently borrowed a FF-4000 mixer to show at the London Calling exhibition. Here is what Siya Fakher, a director at Eclectic Breaks had to say about the mixer. "This mixer is really tried and tested and feels very solid and the inclusion of the Pro X, we feel will make the mixer a lot more appealing to DJs, Venues and Bars who regularly have a variety of DJs performing different genres of music which all make heavy use of the crossfader. This makes the Formula Sound the perfect option for rugged environments and by putting in the PXF you are making this mixer more versatile for the new generation of DJs who are more technically proficient and use scratching techniques in their sets".

Formula Sound Rock On in Japan

Fresh from their part in making the Queen-inspired 'We Will Rock You' such a success in Australia, the Formula Sound QUE-18 units which have been supplying perfect foldback mixes for the show's musicians are repeating their success now that the show has moved on to Japan. “We have 11 QUE–18s on the show in Australia, and they have performed flawlessly right from the moment they were first commissioned,” says Peter Grubb of Victoria-based System Sound Pty which supplies the show’s audio equipment. “Like the various other Formula Sound QUE series foldback mixers we have these have been absolutely invaluable and a real hit with the musicians.”

The QUE-18s have been part of the Queen production since it opened in Melbourne in August 2003, and have moved with the show as it played Perth, Brisbane and Sydney. They have now moved on to Japan where the show has opened at Tokyo’s Koma Theatre. Here, the band room is split in two with half each side of the stage, and the Musical Director relies totally on the Formula Sound QUE-18 units to communicate with those musicians who he cannot actually see.

The Formula Sound QUE-18s were originally specified for ‘We Will Rock You’ by Bobby Aitken of Bobby Aitken Sound Designs. “Nothing else matches the QUE-18 either for price or performance,” he states. “I’ve been using Formula Sound products for many years, and the QUE-18 has become my standard foldback mixer of choice. Its performance on the Australian touring production of ‘We Will Rock You’ over the last two years proves that this product is rugged, reliable and extremely flexible.”

The QUE-18 accepts up to 18 audio inputs (14 mono and 2 stereo) and its many configuration options make it flexible enough to satisfy different foldback requirements. Full compatibility with studio mixing consoles means that the QUE-18 is perfect for any application where reliable and controllable foldback handling is necessary.

The FF-6000 in Amsterdam

Special guests and the press were invited to hear the new fabulous sound at Jimmy Woo's nightclub in the centre of Amsterdam which was the ideal venue to launch the FF-6000 mixer. P&B Audio had installed a Funktion One louspeaker system in the club and were delighted to be able to complete the system with the new mixer. Tony Cockell gave a brief history of Formula Sound and Tony Andrews from Funktion One explained how the collaboration between the two companies had resulted in the mixer being built. DJs who have worked closely with Funktion One were asked to let them know what they would like to see in a mixer. All these ideas were collated and incorporated into the mixer with the result that as well as having the best sound and build quality available, this mixer also has the layout and facilities that most DJs require. FORMULA SOUND MIXES WITH THE BEST

The Formula Sound PM-100 Freedom Series modular mixers are a huge hit with the DJs from London-based Ritzy Entertainment.. They snapped up one of the first mixers to become available, and, having used it in such high profile venues as London's Park Lane Hilton Hotel and the famous Cafe Royal, they've voted it 'the best quality mixer available in today's competitive market'. "This mixer has tremendous flexibility and the microphone options are particularly useful," says Ritzy's Sanjeev Kumar. "It gives great control over everything and is ideally suited to the needs of the DJ. We'll certainly be buying more of these."
